Green Heads Winnetka P. T. A. Mrs. Dwight P. Green was elected president of the Winnetka Parent- Teacher association at the annual meeting of that organization held at the Horace Mann school last week. Other offices chosen to serve with Mrs. Green during the next year were Mrs. Hugo Hartman, vice president; Mrs. Fred Thomas, second vice presi- dent; Mrs. Gross T. Williams, secre- tary; Mrs. Lewis Williams, treasurer. In addition to the election there were reports from all the committees in the association. The Skokie school band provided a brief program and tea was served at the conclusion of the meeting. Announce Services at Scandinavian Church Services at the Scandinavian Evan- gelical church Sunday, May 23, will begin with the Sunday school at 10 o'clock. The Young People's meeting will be at 5 o'clock At 8 o'clock in the evening O. H. Olney will address the congregation. Wednesday evening, May 26, at 8:15 o'clock the Rev. A. E. Rohrbach will preach at the church in the Swed- ish language. There is to be a mis- sion lecture with stereoptican views on Burma Friday evening, May 28, at 8 o'clock by the Rev. A. E. Rohrbach. ADDRESS COMMERCE BODY Ransome Kennecott, chief forester of the Cook County Forest Preserve was the speaker at the meeting of the Win- netka Rotary club last week. The speaker this week was Charles R. Holden, vice president of the Union Trust company of Chicago, who talked on the subject "The Work of the Chi- cago Crime Commission." GLEE CLUB BROADCASTS The North Shore Glee club, a pic- ture of which appeared on the cover page of a recent issue of the WINNETKA TaLk, has again been called upon to broadcast one of its popular programs. It will be featured on WQJ, Chicago, Sunday, from 8 to 10 o'clock in the evening. This is the occasion on which awards of baseball emblems and the final awards of service emblems will be made. In addition there will be given the service pins which are awarded each year to members of the graduating class who have most outstandingly car- ried out the spirit of service in the school. Furthermore, there will be the awarding of thg Donald Anderson Memorial medal, given each year to the boy or girl who, in the opinion of the faculty and graduating class, has lived up to the ideals of service, char- acter and sportsmanship. to emphasize which the medal was established. Class Picnic June 12 On Saturday, June 12, will be held the annual class picnic, at Elder lane park, limited to members of the grad- uating class. This will begin at 2 o'clock p. m., with games, followed by a basket supper and terminating with some stunts. The graduation ritual which has be- come quite a Winnetka tradition, be- cause of its beauty and symbolism, will be held Thursday evening, June 17, at the Jane Kuppenheimer Memorial hall, Skokie school. The program will be- gin at 8:30 o'clock. All seats will be reserved and tickets will be distributed equally to members of the class and may be purchased only through them. School closes for children Friday, June 18. The graduation party will be Satur- day night, June 19, at 7:30 o'clock, at Hibbard gymnasium, Skokie school, limited to members of the graduating class and members of the faculty. "Soul and Mind" Is Christian Science Topic The lesson sermon at First Church of Christ, Scientists, on Sunday morn- ing, May 23, will be "Soul and Body." Services will be held in the Masonic temple at 708 Elm street, at 11 o'clock, and the testimonial meeting is held on Wedngsday evening, at 8 o'clock. The Christian Science reading room at 526 Linden street, is open daily from 12 until 6 p. m.
