To interpret these works Dean Peter C. Lutkin, the director, will offer the great festival chorus of 600 voices, the A Cappella choir, the Chicago Symphony orchestra and the following soloists: Marie Sundelius, soprano; Alma Peterson, soprano; Marie Mor- risey, contralto; Vernon Williams, tenor, and Mark Love, bass. As in former seasons the concerts wili be given in Northwestern university gym- nasium, Evanston. Ossip Gabrilowitsch will be the so- loist at the second concert, Tuesday, May 25, the program of which will be devoted to the music of Tschaikowsky. There will be no concert the following evening, but on Thursday May 27, Gi- ovanni Martinelli, tenor of the Metro- politan Opera company, will be solo artist. The fifth concert, Monday, May 31, will be given over to Brahms' German Requiem, with Mabel Garrison and Boris Saslawsky as soloists, and to orchestral selections directed by Frederick Stock. Mr. Lut- kin will direct the choral work. The last concert will bring forward two soloists--Dusolina Giannini, soprano, and Lawrence Tibbett, baritone--when it is given Tuesday evening, June 1. The orchestral composition which will have won the prize of $1,000 offered to the best American work by the festival association, will be conducted by Mr. Stock at this closing program and the festival will come to a sono- rous conclusion with Fletcher's Song of Victory, which will be led by Mr. Lutkin. North Shore Men Win R. O. T. C. Appointments Joseph M. Taussig of Wilmette and James W. Carpenter of [Hubbard Woods were among members of the R.O.T.C., at Northwestern university who received appointment and assign- ment as cadet officers of the school unit. Taussig was appointed Ist Lieutenant in Company A, while Car- penter received the rank of sergeant in the same company. Mrs. Roger E. Williams, 410 Forest avenue, entertained 12 guests at dinner and bridge at her home Thursday evening.
