a May 29, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Is Two Ball Players Hurt in "Head-on" Collision Last Sunday, during a ballgame at a | picnic in the Forest Preserve, in which a number of young people from Win- netka were participating, Stanhope Adams, of 567 Ash street, collided with Charles Babcock, his neighbor, who resides just across the street, at 566 Ash street, sustaining injuries which sent Adams to the Evanston hospital for two or three days. Babcock quick- ly recovered from the shock of the im- pact when the two players, running after a fly ball, went together, "head- on." Adams' right knee was seriously injured, and although he is out of the hospital, he is unable to get about without the aid of crutches. TO MEET IN LOG CABIN Anita Willets Burnham road will entertain the members of the Englewood Woman's club at her log cabin June 4, when they will meet in her studio for an art talk and view of her sketches. Mrs. Burnham will ad- dress the Aurora Art club on June 8 on her talk, "Abroad With a Paint Box and a Family of Six." Mrs. Maurice Lieber of Winnetka was the parliamentarian and a guest of honor at the annual meeting and breakfast bridge of the Entre Nous Matinee club on Wednesday at the Sovereign hotel, when over 200 mem- bers and guests were present. The luncheon tables were spring-like in their decoration of flowers of pastel shades, and balloons of many hues, bearing the club's name were sent up into the air. Knode of 681 Lincoln avenue left Thursday for Middlebury, Conn., to spend several days with her daughter, Elizabeth, who is attending Westover school. of Tower | New Trier Grid Men Get More Coaches Next Fall Several assistants will be added to the staff of Coach Walter Aschen- bach of New Trier high school when football practice starts next fall Among them will be Harold Caton, a former Knox college football player. It is said that he will probably coach the linemen of the varsity squad. W. I. "Duke" Childs, who has developed New Trier's winning basketball teams for a long time will also assist, it is announced, and may be placed in charge of the freshmen squad. Robert Carpenter, a former Cornell star, will again aid in coaching the grid men. AT SORORITY DANCE | The Epsilon chapter of the Phi Delta | Sigma gave its annual spring dance in the Black Cat room of the Edgewater Beach hotel Saturday evening, May 22. Mrs. Walter D. Sethness of Dinsmore road and Mrs. A. G. Whittier of Locust road, were members of the sorority. A party of Winnetka residents attend- ing was composed of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Paulson, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Weinstock, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Seth- ness, Mr. and Mrs. A. G.
