He is a freshman at St. John's Military academy, and is com- mg with the entire corps of 450 stu- dents to join in the Decoration Day parade in Chicago, and to be guests of the First Regular Armory. The academy group will be one of the main features of the Memorial day parade. ACCEPTS COLLEGE POST Miss Rua Van Horn, one of the members of the New Trier high school faculty, who has been on leave of ab- sence for the past year, has resigned her position as head of the Home Economics department. She has ac- cepted the position of assistant profes- sor of Home Economics and State Supervision at the University of Montana. Mrs. Dick Roth of Provident avenue entertained a few of her friends at luncheon and bridge at her home Tues- day. New Trier Track Men Trim Waukegan Twice New Trier high school won a track meet with Waukegan high school in both junior and senior divisions last Saturday. The senior division won by a score of 58 to 55, the half mile relay deciding the victory for New Trier. The juniors trimmed their Waukegan opponents py a score of 40 to 25. Stover was the individual star of the senior meet, winning two firsts and one second place. The meet was held at the Waukegan high school. BETROTHED Of interest to a number of Win- netkans is the recent announcement of the engagement of Miss Lora Jose- phine Colvin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William H. Colvin of Evanston, to Gordon Whitney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles P. Whitney, also of Ev- anston. No definite date has been set for the wedding. Miss Colvin is the sister of William H. Colvin, Jr., form- erly of Winnetka, but now a resident of London, England. Mrs. Katherina Brandt of 797 Cherry street has just returned from a six months' trip to California. Mrs. R. Lampton and Mrs. B. Brown of Cali- fornia made the return trip with her and are making her a visit of several davs on their way to Louisville, Ky. ----Op-- The family of Charles H. Carlstrand have left the Kenilorth Inn and will reside, until September 15, at Round Lake, Tl. The Carlstrands expect to locate permanently in Winnetka in the fall.
