, ol May 29, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Choose Group to Plan Women's Golf at Wilmette Club With a committee expecting about thirty women golfers, the Wilmette Golf club was the gathering of more than twice that many players on the occasion of its get together luncheon given recently to make plans and schedules for the Women's golf days on Tuesdays throughout the summer, and to elect a golf committee. The newly appointed chairman of this com- mittee is Mrs. Richard M. Trevett of Rogers Park, and the remainder of the group comprises Mrs. Tracy Holmes, Mrs. Thomas McLaren, Mrs Charles Poole, Mrs. E. F. Wellinghoff. Mrs. George Manning, Mrs. John Henry Brodt, Mrs. Bertrand C. Wheeler, Mrs. G. R. Garretson, and Mrs. John McNamara compose the handicap committee; Mrs. Tracy Holmes, Mrs. | Francis M. Local Men Assist in Sesquicentennial Fete Several north shore men are includ- ed on the Citizens' Civic committee appointed by Mayor William E. Dever, for the purpose of sponsoring the pageant, "The Birth of Chicago," to be presented in Soldiers' Field, Chicago, June 1-7. This presentation will be Chi- cago's contribution to the observance of the sesquicentennial anniversary of the establishment of the United States of American. Among the north shore men on the committee are Charles M. Hayes of Winnetka; Axel Lonnquist of Wil- mette; James Simpson of Glencoe and Congressman Henry Riggs Rathbone of Kenilworth. Relatives and Intimate Friends Witness Wedding Mrs. Felix Balek announces the mar- riage of her daughter, Julia Dorothy, to John Thomas Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Vollman of 801 Cherry street, Wednesday, May 26, at 5 o'clock, the Rev. William Haarth of the Sacred Heart church officiating. A reception was held at the home of the bride's mother, 398 Rosewood avenue, which was decorated with spring flowers. The bride wore a frock of beige georgette and carried a bouquet of lilies of the valley and sweet peas. Her only attendant was her maid of honor, her sister, Miss Caroline Balek, who was in a dress of powder blue georgette, and carred pink roses. Both the bride and her sister wore picture hats matching their dresses. William Porcher acted as the groom's best man.
