Music Leaders Conduct Sessions in Evanston The Illinois Federation of Music clubs held its seventh state meeting at the North Shore hotel in Evanston May 24, 25 and 26. Mrs. Edmund Jos- eph Tyler, of Chicago, who is the state president, presided. Several hundred delegates from all over the state, as well as from other states, were pres- ent. Mrs. August C. Babize, 484 Sheri- dan road, Glencoe, attended in her ca- pacity as president of the Music Study club of Chicago. The business meetings took place in the mornings, after which programs were offered. Women archers at Northwestern U. participated Thursday in the intercol- legiate telegraphic meet together with teams from Bryn Mawr, Mt. Holyoke, University of Wisconsin and Cornell university. The girls have prepared for the match under the direction of Miss Marie Hjermstad. May Day, May 22, the contest to select the school champion will be held. Miss Virginia Fitzmaurice, present title holder will defend her IY --O-- Mr. and Mrs. John Stuart of Sheri- dan road and their daughter, Miss Joan, left Friday, May 28, to motor east to attend the graduation of their daughter, Ellen, from Farmington. They expect to return in three weeks. Miss Ellen will be one of the fall's debutantes. a
