Euan - a a Sa Pu-------- May 29, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 47 Kenilworth Happenings Receive Vaudeville of Kenilworth Club With Much Applause "The Village Vanities of 1926," writ- ten, directed, and produced by local talent, was cleverly put on this year by the Kenilworth club The assembly hall was crowded to its utmost by Kenilworth residents and their friends eager to see the entertainment which was a combination of music, mirth and mystery. The long continued applause of the audience was an expression of the enthusiasm with which the pro- duction was received. Louis D. Jones of 325 Richmond road was chairman of the producing staff. Harry S. Weese, 141 Kenil- worth avenue, was vice-chairman and director of music. Miss Isabelle Love- dale, 42 Kenilworth avenue was dramatic director, and Mrs. Matthew Beaton, Jr., 505 Abbottsford road, di- rected the dancing. James Griffen of Northwestern university was technical director. CHANGE ABODES A few Kenilworth residents have found this week a suitable time for changing their domiciles, and the fol- lowing families have moved their households from one home to another; the Bentley McClouds into the home formerly owned by the Shattucks on Kenilworth avenue; the Erwins into their new home on Cumberland ave- nue; the Noble Gilletts into the home formerly owned by the Erwins. GARDEN CLUB HOSTESS The Kenilworth Garden club is hos- tess today to the members of the Glencoe Garden club. Tea will be served at the home of Mrs. S. D. Flood, 133 Kenilworth avenue, and numerous Kenilworth gardens will be visited. --_--Q-- Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Littel, 322 Wood- stock avenue, returned to Kenilworth Sunday from their trip to Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Sydney Y. Ball of Indian Hill returned a few days later as they stopped at Wells college to visit their daughter, Paisley. N= Mrs. Leon M. Allen, 258 Melrose avenue, returned to Kenilworth Friday, May 21, after visiting her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs Dwinnel Slater of Lexington, Mass. Mrs. Slater accompanied Mr. Allen to New York where they visited Mr. and Mrs. Francis Allen. --O-- Mr. and Mrs. George P. Nichols of 519° Warwick road have returned to Kenilworth from their trip around the world. Dement of 337 Abbottsford road, returned to Kenilworth last week from an enjoyable trip to the Ken- tucky Derby. --Q-- Singleton Wins Honor Thomas Singleton of Maywood was awarded the sixteen inch silver trophy for the Northwestern university play- er showing the greatest improvement during spring football practice. The award was made between halves dur- ing the intra-team game between two picked squads at Roycemore field. Fred H. Clutton made the presentation speech. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Moore are staying at the Kenilworth Inn while their new home is being built in Win- netka. Rll dt Mr. and Mrs. F. E. M.
