June 5, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 17 ADVISE VETERANS TO CONVERT INSURANCE "World's Safest Insurance" is In- surance Man's Claim for Gov- ernment Policy Editor's Note: The accompany letter is directed to ex-service men, more par- ticularly to Legion Posts by J. E. Swift Teal, north shore representative of the New York Life Insurance company and is published as a reminder to ex-service people that the final date for re-instate- ment and conversion of their government insurance is July 2, next. VETERANS: TAKE NOTICE! "Are there any ex-service men in your membership who have let their government insurance lapse? If so, they have only a few weeks more in which to repair their neglect, which means a loss of real money to the wives, children, mothers, or other beneficiaries to say nothing of a fund for old age for the men themselves. "This insurance is a reward won by service during the war. There are some four million men who have failed to take advantage of it. "Not many of these men are selfish. Many of them are careless. But most of them simply don't know that their chance is slipping away. That chance, plainly stated is this: "Ex-service men (and women) in good health, may reinstate and convert their government insurance by paying two months' premiums at the Wartime rate, and future premiums on the form of insurance selected, on the monthly, quarterly, semi- annual or annual basis. There are neither occupational restrictions, nor age limit in the rein- stating and conversion of the govern- ment Term policies. The permanent policies are participating, and provide liberal cash, loan and paid-up values. The low net cost of this protection and the great security behind it make this Government insurance in every way most desirable. "It is the world's safest insurance. No private company could offer the same policy at such rates. Those who are entitled to it should have it. The New York Life strongly advocates the rein- statement and conversion of all War Risk Insurance on the Term Insurance plan to the permanent forms of United States Governnment Life Insurance. "Application blanks for reinstatement and conversion may be obtained from the Illinois Regional Office of the U. S. Veterans' Bureau, 111 North Canal street, Chicago--near the Chicago & North Western Terminal, or from the Veterans' Bureau, Insurance Division, Washington, D. C. "Spread the word that July 2 is the last date. after which it will be forever impossible to reaew and convert gov- ernment insurance. : Yours sincerely, J. E. Swift Teal."
