| July 10, 1926 WINNETKA TALK Winnetkans Sell Peonies to Swell Tribune Ice Fund Thinking of hot, sick, little babies living in back rooms above alleys, and of their weary mothers, and then thinking of Winnetka's shaded streets, with a cool lake to plunge into, golf courses to play on, showers and swim- ming pools, Mrs. R. Hofeld, 1131 Lau- rel avenue, Winnetka, sold 245 dozen peonies that she procured from the Northbrook gardens, for the benefit of the Chicago Daily Tribune Ice Fund for sick babies. Mrs. Hofeld, assisted by little Georgia Schoenthal, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Maurice Schoenthal, 159 Eu- clid avenue, Dan Wachs, son of Mr." and Mrs. Theodore Wachs, 1144 Hamptondale road, and Allen Robin- son, of Oakley avenue, Winnetka, took the peonies and sold them on Sheridan road, to people driving by. It meant work, and took persever- ence to sell the flowers and a worthy cause was benefited. Rev. Goodwin to Return From Vacation Next Week Rev. Thomas A. Goodwin, of the Winnetka Congregational church who, with Mrs. Goodwin has been spending a month's vacation at Waupaca, Wis., will return the "early part of next week. The Goodwins will take up their residence at the home of Rev. and Mrs. James Austin Richards, during the ab- sence of the latter, in Bridgton, Maine. Mrs. Richards and the children left some time ago and Rev. Richards will leave Monday to join them. He will be away two months, during which time Rev. Goodwin will preach both morning and evening, as Rev. Richards has been doing while Rev. Goodwin was on his vacation. Directs Ballet Mrs. Thomas Fisher Ruth Page, in private life Mrs. Thomas Fisher, a daughter-in-law of the Walter T. Fishers, 1060 Sheridan road, has recently been engaged to di- rect the ballet at Ravinia. She has been premiere danseuse of the Allied Arts, New York, and is well known locally and in the East for her ability as a dancer. She will take up her work at Ravinia in the near future and will appear in some of the productions herself, it is announced. ANNOUNCES SERMON TOPIC Rev. James Austin Richards of the Winnetka Congregational church, an- nounces for his sermon topic Sunday morning at 11 o'clock, "Camping Out." In the evening; at 8 o'clock, he will preach on "God's Sovereign."
