Cy J September 11, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 11 Luensman Installs Newest Invention to Resoling Shoes Herman Luensman, of 804 Elm street, the veteran shoe man of Win- netka, who also maintains an up-to- date repair department in connection with his shoe store, has just installed one of the Standard "Hydro" presses for resoling women's and children's shoes, without the use of either pegs or stitching. "With this machine," says Mr. Luensmans, "we are enabled to put on the finest, flexible soles, with a glue, which makes a smooth even job, equal in every way to the original sole on the shoe, and at a cost not exceeding the old method of resoling. "Furthermore, there are many shoes which do not have sufficient welt for resoling the old way. But with this method, new soles are possible, where- by the owner is enabled to obtain much additional wear from what would otherwise be a worn-out and discarded shoe. . "The Standard 'Hydro' press has two compartments, each filled with a definite amount of water which sup- ports a flexible cover. Hence, imme- diately the cover is depressed by the sole of a shoe under pressure, the wa- ter is displaced and moulds the cover into the shape of the sole. The water, being incompressible, offers an imme- diate resistance, as hard as iron, thus giving a perfectly even pressure on the sole and waist of the shoe." The North Shore Soccer club is giv- ing a bunco, whist and five-hundred party at the Winnetka Community House, Saturday September 11, at 9 o'clock. The public is cordially in- vited to attend.
