: | i i i September 25, 1926 WINNETKA TALK -H _ _ -- EE ------ INVITE TO LECTURE Education and Music to Be Theme of Talk by Madame Parry at Win- netka Community House Madame Barbareaux Parry, director of the Barbareaux School of Educa- tional Unfoldment, which has a musical kindergarten branch at Winnetka Com- munity House, will give a lecture, Monday evening October 11, at 8 o'clock at the Community House on "Progressive Education and its Asso- ciation with Music." Anyone interested in the Barbareaux system of child training, and anyone interested in progressive thought along teaching lines, will be interested in hearing Madame Parry, and everyone is invited to attend, it is explained. Following a summer spent studying the centers of progressive educational methods throughout Europe, Madame Parry has returned to this country with new ideas and a splendid knowledge of what other countries are doing along progressive educational lines, she as- serts. She has spent her life in edu- cational research work, and the fame of the Barbareaux system is widespread in this country. The central studio has been located in the Fine Arts building in Chicago for twenty years. There are branches in Boston, San Francisco, Vancouver and many other cities in other states. The central office for this district is located at 2442 Sherman avenue, Evanston. Brown, 917 Greenleaf avenue, to enter the freshman class of Kenyon college at Gambier, O. Mr. and Mrs. Brown in- tend to spend two weeks visiting friends and relatives in central Ohio. Field Museum Offers Free Movies for the Children A series of nine free programs of motion pictures are to be given in the James Simpson theatre of the Field Museum of Natural History on Sat- urday mornings during October and November. The pictures will be shown continuously from 10 to 12, and under the general theme, "A Trip Around the World." SEW FOR BAZAAR The Ladies' Aid society of the North Shore Methodist Episcopal churcn will hold an all day meeting, Tuesday, Sep- tember 28, at the Glencoe church. Luncheon will be served under the di- rection of a committee headed by Mrs. Carl Forberg. The purpose of the meeting is to sew for the bazaar which will be given by the members of the society in December. This all day meeting is in charge of Mrs. William A. Fox, president of the Ladies' Aid society. Mr. and Mrs. L. Harry Waidner and family, 206 Scott avenue, Glencoe, have returned from Lake Minnetonka where they spent the summer. Miss Eliza- beth Waidner left last week to re- sume her studies at Smith college, Northampton, Mass.
