The odd bit of jewelery, once the property of the famous Corsican, was purchased together with other articles in a French museum for properties in the new Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer pro- duction. It is an exquisitely carved af- fair, and worth a small fortune outside its historic value. Lillian Gish plays what is said to be the outstanding role in her entire career as "Mimi" in the famous story of the Paris art quarter. John Gilbert plays the poet "Rodolphe," while others in the cast include Roy D'Arcy, Ed- ward Everett Horton, Karl Dane, Gino rier, Eugene Pouyet, Rosita Marstini Corrado, George Hassell, Frank Cur- and others. In addition to this picture there will be an Educational comedy, "Don't Miss," and a Pathe news reel. Because of the length of the picture the doors will open at#7:15 o'clock for the first evening performance. Irene Rich gives an exceptional demonstration of beauty transforma- tion in "The Honeymoon Express," the Warner Bros. film which comes to the Village theater on Thursday, October 7. Willard Louis and Irene Rich are the featured players supported by an excellent cast including Helene Costel- lo, Jane Winton, John Patrick, Holmes Herbert, Jason Robards, Harold Goodwin, Virginia Lee Corbin | and Robert Brower. "The Honeymoon Express" is an American domestic comedy-drama written for the screen by Mary O'Hara. Credit for the intelligent direction be- longs to James Flood. It is a merry- go-round of jangled, jingling loves and lives! You'll want a return ticket for "The Honeymoon Express." There will also be a cartoon comedy, "Felix Trifles With Time," and a Pathe review. Zane Grey's genius for story telling and Paramount's superlative skill in picturizing his colorful tales of the old West in all their gripping realism find celluloid expression in a new melo- dramatic thriller with the unusual title of "Forlorn River," coming to the Vil- lage Friday and Saturday, October 8 and 9. This is the very latest of Mr. Grey's adventurous tales and recently ap- peared serially in the Ladies Home Journal. The principals involved are an out- law, who is a fugitive from justice; a cattle rancher's daughter; and her boyhood sweetheart. Jack Holt has the picturesque role of "Nevada," the mysterious outlaw; Arlette Marchal, noted French beauty, is the appeal- ing heroine; and Edmund Burns is the third angle in this three-cornered love affair, Raymond Hatton, whose comedy characterizations have made him a favorite with picturegoers, plays the part of a tramp cowpuncher in his inimitably humorous style. To complete the bill there will be a comedy, "Daffy Dill," and a Pathe news reel. THE GRANADA "The Love Boat," a story of Old Spain, with scenes set in the province of which Granada is the capital, will be the entertainment feature to be shown next week at the new Granada theater. A gigantic boat made entirely The Mcllvaine Oil Burner The Mecllvaine is quiet. It does not at- tract your attention by bursting from a flicker into a roaring blaze every few minutes.
