LP -- r October 23, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 19 Muenzer Trio in Initial Concert of Chamber Series (By Musie Critie) The writer arrived at the Muenzer Trio recital in the middle of the first movement of the opening number, which happened to be Schubert's al- ways delightful Trio in B Flat Major, Opus 99. It was being played with the technical ability and artistic feeling characteristic of this group of mu- sician, Hans Muenzer, violinist and leader, Hans Koelbel, cellist, and Ru- dolph Wagner, pianist. The tones from the three instruments blended in- to a most harmonious and beautiful en- semble, holding the happy attention of the audience to the very close of the all too short program. The second and last number was the Quartet in E Flat Major, Opus 87, by Dvorak. It was in marked contrast to the Schubert number. Where the lat- ter was rather sweet and smoothly melodious, the Dvorak composition was alive with sprightly rhythms and near- Oriental phrases. The audience de- manded and were given an encore, a classic selection, which sounded like Haydn. In this encore as in the second program number the viola part was played by Fred Rittner. A capacity audience was present to enjoy this, the berinning of the 1926-27 season sponsored by the North Shore Music association. The next recital will take place on December 12, at 4 Pclock, in the Kenilworth Assembly all.
