October 23, 1926 WINNETKA TALK BUILDS $47,000 HOME ---- R. E. Crosby Constructs Beautiful Georgian Colonial at Kenilworth for Market By E. T. SELBY One of the late season building im- provements in Kenilworth will be the fine Georgian Colonial residence which R. E. Crosby, the well known north shore builder with offices at 566 Cen- ter street, Winnetka, will erect on Robsart road near Abingdon road, on a lot 75 by 160 feet. Ground will be broken the first of next week and work will be pushed as rapidly as possible in order to get the structure enclosed before cold weather arrives, Mr. Crosby has built many fine homes throughout the north shore area the past season, but the one de- signed for his Robsart road improve- ment will be among the finest, and in keeping with the high grade develop- ment in this section. It will be constructed of variegated red bricks, topped with a gray slate roof. One of the many features will be a large sun room to the south of the living room, to which it will be ac- cessible through a large arch and up one step from the sun room floor. In addition to five bedrooms, there will also be a large heated sleeping porch directly above the sun room. There will be four bath rooms. The one off the master bedroom will also have a separate shower, and a plaster arch over the bath tub. The plans call for a most attractive breakfast room, with cove ceiling and there will be a two car attached garage.
