November 6, 1926 WINNETKA TALK 43 Starts Extensive Home Building in South Kenilworth A. H. Bure, cunerintendent of build- ing for A. J. Mouat, of 616 Lake ave- nue, Wilmette, is now putting the finishing touches on the firs' unit of building operations which Mr. Mouat has planned for the South Kenilworth boulevard section in Wilmette. The three honses now boing com- pleted are a six room Georgian co- lonial of brick, at $25000; a true American type six-room house of stuc- co on concrete hlocks, at $26,000 and a six-room English cottage type house of stucco on frame, $19,500. As soon as the work of installing sewer and water is completed throuch this section, it is the plan of Mr. Mouat, it is said, to begin a second unit of six buildings, in which num- bers he expects to complete the de- velopment of more than thirty lots which he purchased several months ago. Each of the three houses have steel beams; vacuum steam heating plants; two car garages; ments; all metal weather stripped; flax linum or balsam wool insulation; large bath reoms and numerous large closets. Zenitherm has been used for the walls and floors in the bathrooms of the three houses now being completed, and Mr. Burg says it is the plan to use this popular material in their fu- true buildings in not only the bath- room construction but also for the living room and porch floors. There are many features incorpor- ated in Mr. Mouat's first unit of new homes which make them outstanding at their respective price, in addition to the high standard of construction and material used therein. ANNOUNCE REALTY SALES W. G. Stacey and companv, report having sold through their Wilmette office the Esslinger residence at 126 Woodbine avenue to Mr. F. L. B-- Axel Lonnquist Home From Realty Session in Del Monte, Cal. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Lonnquist have just returned to Wilmette from a trip to California, returning home by way of Portland and Seattle. Mr. Lonnquist was a guest of the California Real Estate association at its convention in Del Monte, and gave an address on the necessity for sub- division control, especially in metro- politan areas, where there are no governing bodies having jurisdiction over the general plan of that area. Mr. Lonnquist is chairman of the City Planning and Zoning division of the National Association of Rea Estate boards and was given a great deal of time to the matter, sitting in the committee that has drafted the proposed city enabling act as the model statute to be recommended to the several legislatures throughout the United States for enactment to con- partitioned base- | trol subdivisions and to permit city planning boards to be established so that the fundamentals of city building may be applied in a general way. Mr. and Mrs. Lonnquist are living in their new home at 500 Elmw avenue, Wilmette. Their former home at 418 Central avenue, has been sold to Miss Herbert, who resides there with her mother. The Lonnquist com- pany made the sale. Wilmette Issues Building Permits Totalinz $57.000 Building permits issued in Wilmette during the last fifteen days in October exceeded $57,000, of which $49,500 was for new residences; $3,425 for seven garages and $4,200 for remodeling jobs.
