Hawaiian Maidens Greet Local Boy on World Tour The strains of Aloha Oe played by the Hawaiian band and the sweet voices of Hawaiian girls_greeted Mr. William B. Renshaw of Winnetka, Ill, when the University ship Ryndam arrived in Honolulu on October 19. Pretty lo- cal lassies presented each passenger with a branch of vivid hibiscus blos- soms as they came ashore and motor cars were waiting to take them on a tour of the city. The trip included the famous Pali, Waikiki Beach, the aquarium where painted fish play, and the scenic route through Honolulu's flower-lined streets. A visit to Iolani Palace, the former home of Hawaii's royalty, a glimpse of the treasures in Mishop museum, and inspection of the University of Hawaii are highlights in the student's itinerary during their three day stay in Hono- lulu. Mr. Renshaw, who is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Renshaw, 256 Sheridan road, is at present in China on the study tour round the world run by the University Travel association of New York. A group of 150 college stu- dents and graduates and professors to conduct classes on ship board from various universities sailed September 19 from New York through the Pan- ama canal and across the Pacific, until May. This floating university will go to India, Siam, and Korea, and from there on to the Mediterranean coun- tries, including Palestine, Syria, Tur- key, Greece, and Italy. They will visit all the western European countries and sail from England. Prof. Graham Taylor and Mrs. Gert- rude Lieber were the speakers at the meeting of the Chicago Commons Woman's club on Tuesday.
