James Austin Richards, of the Winnetka Congregational church, spoke to a special assembly of the Skokie school at 11:30 Wednesday, on the meaning of Thanksgiving. The annual Christmas Carol service {in recital at the at New Trier High school will be held Sunday afternoon December 12. Boy Prodigy Will Be Heard Among Music Recitalists Walter Spry, well-known pianist and teacher, of the Columbia School of Music, will present his Winnetka pupils Branch studio, 545 Lincoln avenue, Saturday afternoon, December 11, at 3 o'clock. Among those who will take part are: Mrs. I. B. Connor, Mrs. Marcus Rich- ards, Miss Helen Pope, Constance Connor, Marion Reuss and Howard Feiges of Chicago. Howard Feiges, who is fifteen years old at the present time, comes of Rus- sian parentage. He is considered one of Mr. Spry's most talented pupils, and has the distinction of being the youngest boy to play in the Children's concerts with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Frederick Stock. He played with the Chicago Symphony two years ago when he was thirteen years old. Beside playing the Scherzo from the Scottish Symphony by Mendels- sohn, he will play a Prelude and Fugue by Bach, and together with Mr. Spry will give a Rondo by Chopin for two pianos. Another interesting feature of the program will be a duet by Mrs. Con- nor and Mrs. Richards, by Beethoven. Following the recital there will be a social hour in the rooms of the studio, and anyone interested is invited to attend the recital. Now ....
