Montgomery and David Fales of Winnetka, were among the friends of Dr. Graham Taylor pres- ent at the cornerstone laying cere- monies for Graham Taylor hall at the Chicago Theological seminary on the afternoon of November 18. Other friends of Dr. Graham who watched the ceremony were Mayor William E. Dever of Chicago, and Julius Rosen- wald, the philanthropist. Dr. Taylor sees in this hall, the gift ef the alumni, the fulfillment of a dream of ten years. He first came to the seminary in 1893 as the first professor of social economics in seminary his- tory. He also established Chicago com- mons, and stood behind many civic movements. The hall is to be a Gothic assembly hall costing more than $150,000. It is to be completed in the spring of 1928. Another cornerstone was laid on the same occasion, this one for the sem- inary's new library building. Mr. and Mrs. Sam S. Mendelsohn, 358 Winnetka avenue, are the grand- parents of two girls born to their daughters, Mrs. Albert A. Kahn and Mrs. Harold A. Salomon. ---- Mr. and Mrs. Albert J. Weisner of 943 Oak street, are entertaining Mr. Weisner's mother, Mrs. A. Weisner of Helena, Mont., who plans to remain here this winter. Skokie School to Hold Xmas Bazaar Friday, Dec. 10 | A Chistmas bazaar at the Skokie school, which will open at 2 o'clock December 10, will offer an opportun- ity to get hand-made articles for Christmas presents. Contributions will be made by the art department, the | metal working department, the sewing department and the cooking depart- {| ment. There will be desk sets, sewing bas- kets, with thimble and tape measure in slates, shoetrees, cleverly dressed dolls, home made candy, peuter ar- ticles, such as: ash trays, book ends, plates, candlesticks, jewel boxes, paper knives, etc. Christmas cards first printed by the printing department and then hand painted by the art department will also be for sale at a few cents each. Money received from the sale of articles in the bazaar will be devoted to different purposes; that from the sale of things in the art department will in part be spent to make some | unfortunate person just a little hap- | pier; the momey from 'the sale of | peuter articles will go toward the pur- | chase of new equipment for the work | shop, and so on. The general public is urged to attend and a worthwhile visit 1s guaranteed. R.
