The election took place on the train en- route back to Chicago. Gus, as he is popularly known on the campus, will be a senior next fall. le hails from Wheaton, Ill, where he won fame as a high school player. During his freshman year in high school he teamed with Red Grange, famous Illinois athlete. Gustafson is also a basketball player of note. Last season he played guard on the team and will be out again this fall to take his place on the squad. It was Gustafson's brilliant playing this fall that won him the captaincy. He rose to the height of his career when he ran the first kickoff in the Chicago game to a touchdown. His speed and ability to catch forward passes were the outstanding features of his play. "Candy Basket" Promises Surprise of Xmas Bazaar The "Candy Basket" promises to be one of the genuinely unique features of the annual Christmas bazaar to be conducted by the Girl's club of New Trier High school Saturday, Decem- ber 4. Arrangements of this booth at the bazaar will follow the shape of a huge basket from the mysterious depths of which pretty little maidens will bring forth the best in home-made sweets, as well as imported candies--fresh from Europe. It will contain a real surprise, the nature of which is being guarded as a deep, dark secret. The Candy Basket is being designed by girls at the high school.
