Following the approval of President Coolidge, every state is represented by a committee at present busy with plans for the proper observance of that date and former Governor Frank O. Low- den again heads the committee in Il- linois. This is the third annual Golden Rule day, the first being celebrated at Geneva, Switzerland, when representa- tives of thrityv-one nations gathered and formulated plans for the relief of the stricken children left homeless by massacre, war, deportation and pesti- lence. Winnetka Girl Gets Place on Seminary Hockey Team Miss Elizabeth M¢Kinney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs, Williamh Ayer Mec- Kinney of Chatfield road, Winnetka, who is attending Northfield seminary at East Northfield, Mass., has been awarded membership on the seminary all-campus hockey team. The requirements for this award are very high, the members of the team having to have ability in hockey, good' sportsmanship, good health, high rank in posture, and to have passed in all academic work. Miss McKinney is now entitled to wear a Northfield "H," which represents 100 points toward the higher emblem, the "N." CALLED TO TWO FIRES The Winnetka Fire department was called to the residence of Otto Ruess,. 568 Hill terrace, Monday evening at 6 o'clock, to extinguish a fire resulting from a defective oil burner. This was the second fire of this nature at the same residence within a week. Very little damage, other than that from smoke, resulted either time.
