This will be the outgrowth of the series of Sunday afternoon lectures which have been given recently by its Chicago leader, Horace J. Bridges, at the Orrington hotel. The last of the first series of these talks will be given next Sunday, but they will be resumed again the first Sunday in January, it is announced. Last Sunday Mr. Bridges discussed Dr. George Brandes' book, "Jesus, a Myth." Next Sunday he will discuss "Needed Repairs in the Ten Commandments." L (\) A N S WITHOUT COMMISSION On Desirable Homes and Apartment Buildings John Hancock Mutual Life Insur- ance Company A. D. LANGWORTHY, Loan Agent 112 W. Adams St., Chicago Playroom Feature of Dental Clinic for Chicago Tots Children who are brought to the dental clinic in the Ward building on Northwestern university's McKinlock campus, within the near future, will first be ushered .into one of the most attractive playrooms in the country. In the realm of dental psychology, if there is such a thing, it is deemed wise first to entertain the prospective victim before the tooth is pulled and at Northwestern, where there soon will be opened a children's dental clinic of twenty-six diminutive dental chairs, with all electrical and mechanical aids, every effort is to be made to divert the voungster's mind before he is called by the operator. A feature of the playroom, which, with the perfected clinic, will be open- ed near Christmas time, will be the designer's plan to make the room re- semble a miniature garden. There will be lattice-work and trellis effects, with a space that will resemble a tiny front- yard. As one dental authority at Northwestern said yesterday: "We want the kids to think they have ar- rived in an outdoor playroom and that they are expected to enjoy themselves." Within the playroom will be slides, a sand pile, rocking horses, small chairs of various designs, picture books and blocks. The clinic room itself is promised to be as complete as any adults' clinic in the country. The twenty-six wee den- tal chairs are already in position but the installation of related devices is still to be done. Last vear about 5,000 Chicago boys and girls were escorted by parents, school nurses, or other elders, to the old clinic at Lake and Dearborn streets, and this year it is believed that many more will be accommodated. It is ex- pected that shortly better transporta- tion facilities will be perfected so that bus service will be operating between campus and various depots and other impoftant points of Chicago. The Illinois public utility commission was recently petitioned to this end. CONSTRUCTION. by endowment fund as follows: A Each a Combination of Quiet Dignity and Restful Charm.
