Blatchford, the new Gommander of Winnetka Post No. 10, American Legion, entered the military service in July, 1917, being stationed at Fort Riley until the following June when he was placed in command of Army Field Hospital 41, and the latter part of ~ the same month was sent overseas where he took part in three offensives, Pont-a-Moussen, St. Mihiel and Argonne, returning home in April 1919.
