January 15, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 15 Mrs. F. A. Helmar, Former Resident, Dies in Michigan Word has been received by Winnet- ka friends, of the death of Mrs. Frank A. Helmar of Battle Creek, Mich, formerly of Chicago and Winnetka, which occurred this week, in Battle Creek Mr. and Mrs. Helman netka for several years, lived in Win having bought the home of Mrs. Ralph Dickinson on 1 - . Prospect avenue. Shortly after this time their only daughter married Dr Stewart Prichard, head dietician of the Jattle Creek sanitarium. Leaving Winnetka, Mr. and Mrs. Helmar made their home with their daughter, wher Mr. Helmar died. Since that time Mrs Helmar lived with her daughter until her death. In addition to having a wide circle of friends along the north shore, and being prominent in social affairs, Mrs. Helmar, a graduate of Northwestern university was distinguished for being the first woman lawyer in Chicago. Her father and husband were also promin ent in law work, and were well-known in the legal world. Her father, Judge James B. Brad- well, a pioneer in Chicago, was the founder of the "Chicago legal News," a paper taken and read by nearly every lawyer and judge in the city, for it dealt with the legal news of the day.
