William Schmedtgen of 710 Green- leaf avenue, Wilmette, who recently returned from a year abroad with his family, will have an exhibition of his paintings on display for the league. Mrs. Jean Coburn of 915 Linden ave- nue, Wilmette, a sculptor, and contrib- utor of the frieze adorning the wall above the mantle in the Wilmette Woman's club, will have an exhibi- tion of many of her best works. A third resident of Wilmette who will exhibit at this meeting is Charles Morgan of 1401 Hill street, a decor- ative artist and etcher. Principals and teachers in the north shore schools as well as any other residents of the villages, who are in- terested, are cordially invited to at- tend this meeting and meet the officers, members and exhibitors. Fathers Feast Sons on Country Day Grid Teams A luncheon was given during the holidays at the North Shore Country Day school to members of the school football teams, past and present, by their fathers. Frank Fowle, father of the captain of this year's team, pre- sided. . Speeches were given by those gradu- ates of the school who have distin- guished themselves in college athletics, among them being, John Mordock, who won his letter at Cornell; Wil- liam Miller, who won his letter at Yale; Henry Stein, who won his freshman numerals at Dartmouth last year; John McEwin, who won his freshman numerals at Yale last year; Frank Fowle, who won his numerals at Williams and plays on the varsity basketball team there, and A. Groten- huis, who won his numerals at Am- herst. After each son spoke, his father added a speech. A. Frisbie, formerly traffic mana- ger of Armour and company and pres- ident of the Illinois Tunnel company, afterwards president of the Cornell Wood Products company and more recently an executive of the LaSalle Extenson university, has been elected to the presidency of the Commerce Pe- troleum company. Mr. Frisbie succeeds the late Mr. George F. Brigham of Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is well known to many local residents. The Commerce Petroleum company is one of the largest distributors of burning oils in Chicago and has stor- age and distributing facilities at five different locations in the metropolitan area. The company was organized in 1918 by Henry H. Brigham of Glencoe, president of the North American Car corporation, and his brother, George F. Brigham of Tulsa. It is interesting to note that Mr. Frisbie and Henry H. Brigham were many years ago associates in the Transportation department of Armour and company. With Mr. Frisbie's election, it is an- ticipated an enlarged program will be undertaken in the burning oil, lubri- cating oil and gasoline divisions of the company's business. Ralph Heineman Wins N. U. Scholarship for Freshman Ralph Heineman, 913 Greenwood avenue, Winnetka, was one of the seven freshmen at Northwestern uni- versity to be awarded scholarships bas- ed on examinaticms in English mathe- matics, and one foreign language, which were given recently to those freshmen wishing to compete. Mar- garet Walker of Wilmette was another north shore student to win one of the seven.
