New Trier Drama Club to Give Mennonite Play The new Trier High school Dramatic { club has something novel in the line of plays for the near future. "Erstwhile Susan" the name of this farce of life in a small Mennonite community. Seven girls and ten boys chosen almost entirely from the senior and junior classes make up the cast. The characters are strange and path- etic, ridiculous, and unusual, and the names! Barnabetta Dreary and Rimak Schwenkfelders are good example of is labor under. There is a love story too. Among the institutions in which em- ployes have registered through an ar- |rangement whereby the North Shore [line assumes half of the tuition cost, are the University of Wisconsin, Northwestern university, Marquette | university, Kent College of Law and |the Armour Institute. Other employes are enrolled in regular night schools |at Racine, Kenosha and Waukegan, as well as part-time courses at the | Milwaukee City Continuation school. The educational work of the rail- road began with the establishment of | English and Americanization courses |'n 1921. At the present time Ameri- canization work is confined to the in- dividual, usually in aiding applicants for citizenship. The scope of activi- ties has steadily grown from this orig- inal basis of the North Shore line edu- cational system and the co-operative plan now makes it possible for em- ployes to prepare for the future through actual university training. Company courses offered include public speaking, electricity, mechanical drawing, blue print reading, shop arithmetic, automotive engineering and air brake operation and theory. An extensive program with additional courses has been planned for execution during the present year. ENJOY SLEIGH PARTY Miss Florence Biesemeier of 804 Central avenue, Wilmette, and Miss Ruth Wilcox of 1010 Pine street, Win- netka, entertained a group of sixteen friends from New Trier High school at a sleigh ride Saturday evening, January 22. After the ride, the party returned to the Biesemeier residence for refreshments and dancing. Mrs. Walter Hanna, Mrs. William O. Belt and her daughter, Miss Virginia, of Kenilworth, and Mrs. Edwin H. Stevens of the Georgian hotel departed Tuesday evening for California where Mrs. Hanna will remain a month.
