Next Wednesday a lecture in French will be given. Le Cercle Francaise did nothing for Christmas as the Arden Shore author- ities asked them to wait until later. On Friday, February 4, the French club is going up to Arden Shore where it will provide ice cream, cookies, and entertainment for twenty-five boys. The club also discussed the Mardi Gras, to be held Saturday, February 26, at 8 o'clock, for the purpose of in- creasing the French Scholarship fund. The tickets for the Mardi Gras are on sale this week. The committees announce that they are doing all possible to have good en- tertainment, and hope to surpass last year's fete. Mrs. Henry J. Illustrating her subject with many incidents from home and school life of the little child, Miss Baker showed how, through the every- day contacts, as well as through the lessons of hero-days and holidays, the child may be led to establish an ideal and a standard of conduct which will make him a desirable citizen. The address was one in the series of radio talks for parents on the sub- ject of moral-social education of the child in the home, which Miss Baker is giving at 4:15 o'clock on the after- noon of the first Wednesday of each month, Kindergartners Compete in Song Contest Feb. 10 A song contest among freshmen, sophomore and junior classes of the National Kindergarten college, will be held Thursday afternoon, February 10, to celebrate the first anniversary of the move into the new Harrison hall on the north shore. Last year the song contest was held under very crowded conditions in the old buildings, but the awarding of the silver baton to the winning class took place at the opening assembly in the still unfinished new building on Feb- ruary 10, and the students, through college council, requested that the event be made an annual affair. Mr. and Mrs. William T. Wersted of 906 Cherry street have recently re- turned from a trip to California. They have been gone several weeks. William H. Hansmann Named President of Wilmette Golf Club With the new golfing season just around the corner in the cycle of the seasons, the Wilmette Golf club this week announced the results of the club's recent election of officers. William H. Hansmann was chosen president, and other officers were elected as follows: W. J. Marshall, vice president; E. H. Walworth, secretary; C. A. Zie- barth, treasurer. Committee chairmen have been announced as follows: Harry Herb, house committee; Bert C. Wheeler, sports and pastimes; Wal- ter F. Wylie, handicaps; W. H. Mont- gomery of 15 Green Bay road, will re- turn from Columbia university in New York, Monday, February 7, after com- pleting her work in methods and psychology of education. Miss Mont- gomery has been studying at Columbia since fall, taking her final examinations this past week, and distinguishing her- self by taking honors in these examina- tions.
