Mrs. James Waller Marshall of 674 Mrs. Eris Scudder, first vice-president, Prospect avenue, Winnetka, has been re-elected president of the society, Mrs. Charles S. Dennis, second vice- treasurer, and Mrs. James C. Jameson, president, Mrs. William S. Kline, secretary. . New directors for the year will be Mrs. Stuyvesant Peabody, Mrs. Ed- ward Price Bell, Mrs. Bruce Scott, Mrs. Frederick H. Scott, Mrs. Henry H. Hilton, Miss Elizabeth Baker, and Mrs. Albert Gardner. The first announcement of particular interest to north shore friends of the society is a sale being planned in Win- netka for the latter part of February. The place, exact date, and patronesses for the sale will be announced later. Mrs. Marshall, as president, gave a detailed and stimulating annual report, which she read to the assembled officers, directors and members on January 31. Mrs. Marshall said that "The Voca- tional Society for Shut-Ins" serves the handicapped of Chicago as no other organization attempts to, and as you all know trains the Shut-In to produce a saleable article which is disposed of during the year at the shop or private sales. To Make Church Plans Known at Open Meeting The main subject of conversation these days among people of the Win- netka Congregational church, is the new church building enterprise. The church building committee is just about ready to report its plans for the consideration of the church. By vote of the church, the committee is required first of all to make its report to the church council, but in order that every- body may know just exactly what is the present condition of the enterprise, the church council has voted to make the meeting at which this report will be presented, an open meeting, at which every interested person in the parish is invited. The day of the meeting is Wednesday, February 16, at 8 o'clock. VALENTINE BAZAAR A Valentine bazaar is being held during the noon hour all this week at the Greeley school, by Mrs. Schwoerer's first graders. All of the valentines are made by the children and the plan is being carried out in order to raise money for a school fund. A grab-bag and feed and candy sale is also being planned by the children for Friday. Arden Shore Holds Winter Camp for Underweight Boys Arden Shore activities are not con- fined to summer camps alone, nor to fall and spring work, but through the winter months. This win- ter, a camp for fifty boys about 14 years of age is being conducted at the Lake Bluff Arden Shore site, and on behalf of these boys, who are under- weight and convalescent, the Winnetka committee of the Arden Shore organi- following an- continue zation is making the nouncement. The 50 boys seeking health at Lake Bluff, are striving for working certifi- cates. They are either run down, un- dernourished, or convalescent, and without this certificate they cannot be dismissed from the camp. The program they follow is to sleep, work and play out-of-doors as much as possible, practically all day and night. Anyone in Winnetka, Hubbard Woods or Indian Hill who has warm clothing, shoes, overcoats, socks, any- thing warm and whole, is asked to phone either of three women in the village. Mrs. Joseph E.
