Orvis, health officer of Winnetka, announces that arrange- ments have been made for an inspec- tion of places where foods probably are prepared or sold, in the village, such inspections probably to be made monthly. A system for keeping accu- rate records of this sanitary inspection has been provided in the form of report sheets, in which any deficiency in either of two sections, that of equip- ment or methods of handling such foods, are recorded, and all combined to establish the score or credit to which the place inspected is entitled. Dr. Orvis states that in some places where this method is in practice, cards are displayed, following such inspection indicating that the inspection has been made and also the grade which the in- spection justified. He said he has not decided that this practice will be adopted in Winnetka. It has many features commending it, he said, and in some places, the merch- ants use the display of such cards as a valuable asset to their business, the public being assured that claims for sanitary features of such stores receiv- ing the cards are entitled to them. All strive to obtain and retain them. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Taylor, Jr., 431 Essex road, Kenilworth entertained in- formally at a dinner bridge Wednesday evening, February 9.
