This is the land lying north of the Dundee road and for the most part east of the new Skokie Valley route, acquired some time ago by the United Realty company. section of the , village There are 114 acres in what was known as the Noble farm and about thirty-five acres in the Henry Kelling farm, adjoining it. Both of these tracts, which the United Realty company is subdividing and will submit for approval to the Village board March 1, are virtually all. within the corporate limits of the village and steps already have been taken to bring in the small portion which is not already annexed. The new super-highway or the pro- posed 100-foot continuation of Cicero avenue which is to parallel the Skokie Valley route, will pass through this tract, for which the United Realty company is making provision. This company, it is said, owns approximate- ly 700 acres along the Skokie Valley route from Glenview road to this tract, including the large subdivision at Wau- Bun. The land which this company has dedicated for the new through highway, is estimated to be worth $86,000. | Mrs. Delbert W. Dodds, manager of the north shore department of Quinlan & Tyson, Inc., announces the appointment of Carl R. Gurshin of Boston, Mass., to the north shore department of that firm, specializing in Wilmette proper- ties. Mr. Gurshin has had seven years' experience in real estate in Boston and Lynn, Mass. and comes very highly recommended. This completes the personnel of the north shore department as the Kenil- worth and Winnetka area is taken care of by Frank N. Orndorff, Glencoe and Highland Park by Philip V. Jewell, and Glenview and Wheeling acreage by Robert Richardson of Glenview. Mr. Dodds is handling the acreage west of the north shore villages. Chicagoan Arrested When Cars Crash in Kenilworth An automobile accident, in which two cars were damaged and the owner of one arrested on a charge of driving a car while intoxicated, occurred on Sher- idan road, Kenilworth, Sunday, Feb- ruary 20. J. G. Gunn, residing in Hub- bard Woods, was driving north on Sheridan road when his car was struck by a machine driven by R. A. Hen- rickson, 64 Fullerton avenue, Chicago. Henrickson was released on $200 bonds and the date of his trial set for the following day. He was, however, granted a continuance until the latter part of the week. Mrs. Henry W. Silk of 637 Gar- land avenue entertained twelve guests at a birthday dinner Tuesday, Febru- ary 22, in honor of her husband.
