die -------------- March 12, 1927 WINNETKA TALK NEW SCOUT COUNCIL MAKES FINE PROGRESS Issue Report on Three-Month Period Since Inception of North Shore Organization The North Shore Area Boy Scout council, organized last December, has just issued a report on the work of the first three months, which includes a forward look to the possibilities still untouched. More troops are needed in most of the communities to take care of the increasing number of boys who want to become scouts, the report empha- sizes. Yet no troop can be organized until some institution agrees to sponsor and supervise it, provide leadership and insure its permanency. "A group of boys and a leader is not enough," the report reads, "before a troop can make a permanent and a rich contribution to the life of the community, the troop must be organized around a group of adults, and not merely around one who may not be permanent." Seven New Troops New troops have been forming at an unusually rapid rate since the formation of the council. Seven new troops have either organized or are now in the final stages of organization. They include a new troop at the Glen- coe Union church, one at St. Elisa- beth's Episcopal church, Lake Forest Presbyterian, St. Joseph's church, Wil- mette, and the Glenview Methodist church.
