Dickinson, Jr., of Winnetka, was elected president of the New Trier Citizens' league, at the annual meet- ing of that township organization held late last week at the City club in Chi- cago. The executive committee of the league, which is comprised of represen- tative citizens from all the villages in New Trier township, also formally nominated candidates to appear on the ticket in the annual town election Tuesday, April 5. These candidates are Walter T. Fisher of Winnetka, for the office of Township school trustee; and John A. Schildgen, of Wilmette, for Township constable. These are the only offices to appear on the ballot this spring. Mr. Dickinson was elected president of the league to succeed John R. Leon- ard of Winnetka, who expressed the desire to retire after several terms as head of the organization. GYM LEADERS HIKE The eight members of the Junior Gym Leaders club of the Kenilworth Community gymnasium, met Friday night under the leadership of Robert W. Townley, recreation director, and after sleeping over night at the gym hiked to Camp Howe for a half day of fun. The boys taking the trip are as follows: Joe Harrison, Don Kimball, Jack O'Connor, Rodger Barrett, Ken- neth Hess, Perry Shortridge, Bud Mc- Eldoney and Charles Fisher. Mr. and Mrs. David R. DeCamp, 615 Abbottsford road, Kenilworth, spent last week end visiting their son, Wil- son, at the University of Indiana. Strong Teams Hold Lead in Winnetka Basketball League Few changes are to be noticed in the standing of the cage teams in the Skokie-Country Day basketball league this week. The Blackbirds still main- tain the lead in the Girls' lightweight section and the Bluebirds remain at the head of the Girls' middleweight section. In the Boys lightweight league, however, the E ragles and Tigers stand tied for first honors, the Eagles having dropped a game and the Tigers having won one.
