"The Marks | Community House English Classes | End Next Tuesday | Classes in English for Foreigners which have been conducted in Com- munity House during the past winter, will close their term of forty lessons next Tuesday evening, March 29, after a successful year. The instruction has been ably given by Miss Livia Youngquist, beginning class; Miss Millicent Anderson, Inter- mediate class; and Miss Mabel Duck- er, advanced class. Classes have been held each Monday and Tuesday eve- nings since November first. Community House has assumed the responsibility of advertising, promot- ing, and housing this work, of engag- ing the teachers, and purchasing the supplies. The Winnetka School Board has lent its interest, endorsed the teaching and curriculum, and has co-operated in loaning text-books. It has stood ready to help in every way possible. Young men and women have found, here, not merely text-book instruction, but a kindly, friendly guidance, which has helped to give them an insight into American ideals and living. As next Tuesday is the last meeting, the pupils are to receive their certificates of work accomplished. There will be a social hour and program.
