Winn. 998-99 Woman's League to Prompt Memories of Delinquent Voters A concerted effort will be made by the Winnetka League of Women Vot- ers to get out the vote for the Village election on April 5 and the school election on April 9. Postcard notices are being mailed out to the entire membership of the league, which now totals 1,000. In addition to these, a telephone notification system has been organized. Mrs. D. Bligh Grasett, election chairman, will start an end- less chain of calls when she asks each of the precinct chairmen to call their block captains. The latter will then phone five women in their territory who are not in a habit of voting and urge them to go to the polls. Since there are over a hundred block cap- tains, a large number of women will be reached in this manner. Policemen to Have Two Days Off Duty Each Month The members of the Winnetka Po- lice department, beginning April 1, are to enjoy the privilege of two days off duty each month, in addition to the regular two weeks' annual vacation, which has, heretofore, been their only time off. The new order goes into effect April 1, but it is no joke. On the other hand, it is one of the most pleasant realities which have come to the faihtful minions of the law in the village for a long time, and no doubt accounts for that beaming countenance and unusually sprightly step so noticeable the last day or two throughout the personnel of the force. Mrs. R. H. Schell of 800 Elm street left on Thursday, March 31, to visit her daughter, Marion, in Springfield, Ohio.
