April 2, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 9 KENILWORTH SCOUTS WIN ANOTHER CONTEST Well-trained Aggregation Under Bob Townley Annexes First Honors at Highland Park More than 250 Scouts from sixteen different Scout troops, and from ten different towns, Wilmette Lake Bluff, inclusive, took part in the Scoutcraft contest held Friday night, March 25, at the Deerfield-Shields High school gymnasium at Highland Park. The program included an open- ing ceremony; knot-tying contest, in which sixty-five scouts competed, on thirteen teams; First Aid team con- test; Semaphore and Wig Wag sig- nalling contest; Scout drill, under boy leader; fire-by-friction contest; and equipment race and closing ceremony together. The well-trained and enthusiastic Troop 13 of Kenilworth, 100 per cent in attendance (33 Scouts and leader), carried off first honors with a total of 30 points; Troop 4 of Wilmette, St. Augustine's church, was next in line with 12 points; Glencoe Troop 21, of the Glencoe Union church, only a half- point behind, took third place. Fourth place honors went to Troop 31 of High- land Park, the host troop. Troop 37 of Highwood came in fifth; Troop 24, of Hubbard Woods, sixth place; 35 of Ravinia, seventh place; 33 of High- land Park (Lincoln school), and 42 of Lake Bluff were tied for eighth place. Other troops represented but not en- tered in contests were: 3 of Wilmette; 23 of Glencoe; 32 of Highland Park; 46 of Lake Forest; 51 of Deerfield, and 55 of Glenview. Wilmette Troop Wins Troop 4 of Wilmette had the team that produced the fastest knot-tyers; Kenilworth 13, was second; 24 Hub- bard Woods and 31 Highland Park tied for third. After carefully inspecting the sixty Scouts participating in the First Aid Team contest, the judges reported 13 Kenilworth, first; 35 Ravinia, second; 21 Glencoe, third; 42 Lake Bluff, fourth. First place in Semaphore signalling was taken by Kenilworth 13; second by 24 of Hubbard Woods; third by 37 of Highwood; fourth by 21 of Glen- coe.
