Seventeen church de- nominations are co-operating, repre- senting 800 Protestant churches. Rev. Charles W. Gilkey will speak | on "Changed Perspective" on Monday, [April 11. On Tuesday, April 12, | George W. Dixon, general chairman |and president of the board of trustees of Chicago temple, will preside. The invocation will be given by Dr. Ed- ward G. Schutz, district superinten- dent, Chicago. Bishop Edwin Holt Hughes, Chicago, will speak on "The Limitation of Prayer." On Wednesday, Rev. R. J. Wade, D.D,, secretary of the General Con- ference, and executive secretary, World Service commission, will give the invocation, and Bishop Hughes will speak on "The Reaction of Pray- er." Thursday Dr. M. N. English, Oak Park, will give the invocation and Bishop Hughes will speak on "The Habit of Prayer." Each day at 12 to 12:15 noon, there will be a Lenten organ recital by Arthur Dunham, and at 12:45 to 1 o'clock, Mr. Dunham will give special organ selections. On Good Friday, April 15, Dr. John Thompson, pastor, Chicago temple, will give the invocation and Bishop Edwin Holt Hughes will speak on "The Cross in Prayer," at the noon hour service. At the service from 1 to 2 o'clock, Rev. Asa J. Ferry will joint auspices of the Chicago Church | Federation and the First Methodist | | give an address on "The Cross in Christian Experience," and Rev. Wal- ter A. Morgan will discuss "The Dy- namic of the Cross." From 2 to 3 P. M., there will be a service at which [ Rev. M. P. Boynton will discuss "Jesus the Unifier of Men," and Bishop S. P. Spreng will speak on "The Cross of Christ, a Challenge of Faith." The services are open to the public. ' Edna Dean Baker Gives Last of Radio Lectures "Spring and the Child" was the sub- | ject of an interesting radio talk for | mothers and teachers given by Pres- ident Edna Dean Baker of the Na- tional Kindergarten and Elementary college from station WMAQ on Wed- nesday afternoon, April 6. Through the courtesy of Mr. Kihm, manager of the North Shore hotel, Evanston, a group of mothers and stu- dents, including the college class in re- ligious education, were invited to at- tend the lecture via the receiving set in the hotel. This program concluded the series of talks on the moral-social education of the child, which Miss Baker has given from WMAQ during the winter months. RECEPTION FOR FACULTY A formal reception for the faculty of Northwestern university was given last evening by the students living at Willard hall. The trustees of the university and the parents living nearby also at- tended. There was dancing and enter- tajnment by the girls. The hostesses were : Dean Winifred Richardson, Miss Eleanor Lewis, Miss Alice Jones, Miss Helen Lee, Miss Helen Kennedy, Miss Helen Cole, Miss Dorothy Fike, Miss Ruth McIntyre, and Miss Mar- garet England.
