MINTURN PLAYERS "The Shepherd of the Hills" A particular sentimental interest centers about Harold Bell Wright's fa- mous novel "The Shepherd of the Hills" a dramatization which will be given by the Minturn Players, at the New Evanston theatre, under the per- sonal direction of Mr. Minturn, all next week. A story more typically American could hardly be imagined. The scenes are laid in the Ozark mountains of Missouri, a region which may be said to have been discovered by Mr. Wright, as it was little known to the average person, bevond those in the immediate vicinity, before the ad- vent of "The Shepherd of the Hills" in story form. It has since become a national vacation ground through the popularity it attained from the 15,000,- 000 readers of the Wright story. A casual visit to this particular un- known country showed the author its possibilities and he remained to write a story of the everyday life in that section. : | | ALABAN&KAT Zz ORFHOR HOWARD Pa\"4 hegpr CLARK |B --NOW PLAYING-- Marion Davies Owen Moore "THE RED MILL" From Victor Herbert's laughing operette STAGE EVENTS --STARTING SUNDAY-- The sensational thriller of America's fighting lovers.
