Scholarship The Monacoans, a fraterity that is not a Greek letter organization, led the list of campus societies in scholar- ship at Northwestern university dur- ing the first semester of this year. Their average, as estimated by the registrar's office, was 1.685 (of a pos- sible 3.00). The Wranglers, another non-Greek letter fraternity, were sec- ond, and the Scribblers of the same classification, were third. Then came Phi Kappa Psi with the best average made by them in recent years and the other Greek letter frats in close or- der. Phi Delta Theta and Phi Kappa Sigma were last on the list of the larger fraternities. Among the fraternities with less than ten undergratuate members on the scholarship list, Acacia led with an average of 1,487, an average schol- arship grade that would place them third in the longer list of all fraternities. All men in fraternities averaged 1.148. Delta Mu led the sor- ority list with a point average of 1.812, then came Phi Omega Pi, Alpha Xi Delta and other sororities with ave- rages only a little less. All girls in sororities averaged 1.471, or higher than the all-man average in the frat- ernities. ; The men's dormitory, non-fraternity, that led was Haven House with a score of 1.303; Foster House was sec- ond and Lindgren House was third. All men in dormitories averaged 1231, or a slightly higher grade than the frat- ernity men. Next year, with the sor- ority girls in their new campus homes, the effect of this manner of living upon scholarship will be watched close- ly by the knowing ones. - Anything today.
