al April 9, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 53 Good Luck Club Holds Initial Meeting Monday In spite of the stormy weather a number of young people from the [inglish classes for foreigners gathered in the Camp Fire room of Community House Monday evening, April 4, for the first meeting of their new Good luck club, which is an outgrowth of the English classes. Miss Livia Young- quist was the leader for the evening. The president, Martel Desgraz, called the meeting to order and conducted the business. The program for next week was planned, and it indicates a delightful evening next Monday, April 11. Musical numbers, current events, reading of poems, a story, and songs by the club, as well as a social time, are planned. After the business meeting last Monday, Mr. Hahn of Evanston led the club in some group singing and gave some vocal numbers. Miss Mabel Turnquist sang and Miss Youngquist read from "Treasure Island" and gave some current events. It is planned to have a social meeting once a month with refreshments and games. The officers of the club are: presi- dent, Martel Desgraz; secretary, Ma- bel Turnquist; treasurer, Anton Sward. All former members of the English classes and their friends are welcome and are invited to come. The club meets each Monday evening in tue Camp Fire room of Community House at 8 o'clock. The meeting will start at 11 o'clock and will be held in the assembly room on the fifth floor of the Illinois Mer- chants' Bank building in Chicago.
