DEERFIELD CHAMBER of COMMERCE Deerfield, Illinois Children of Cook County to Engage in Big Egg Hunt Greatest Easter egg hunt ever staged in the history of Chicago will be held Easter Sunday in Cook coun- ty's 3,100 acres of forest preserve when Peter Rabbit, by arrangement with President Anton J. Cermak of the county board, will have on hand in the crotches of trees, hidden in the hollow trunks of logs, in nests of grass and similar secret hiding places, ten thousand big candy Easter eggs, chocolate coated and wrapped in a dress of oiled paper to guard against the weather. Finders are keepers. All children who live within the boundaries of Cook county are eligible to participate in the sport and there is no limit to the number of eggs any one child may acquire. Twenty-five thousand youngsters are expected to join in the hunt, which starts at 10 o'clock Easter Sunday morning and continues until night. President Cermak and Otto Young Schnering, president of the Curtiss Candy company, the donor of the eggs, will start the hunt off officially at that time in Thatcher Woods, which is on the east side of the Des- plaines river, opposite Chicago avenue. "The hunt will be divided up into ten districts," Mr. Cermak announced today, in making public the plans for the event. "Every child in the county will have an opportunity to participate in the fun. "In each district 1,000 eggs will be hidden, not so carefully but what they may readily be found. The hunt starts at 10 o'clock promptly and no search- ing will be allowed before that time." Thatcher Woods--Opposite Chicago avenue in the woods. Riverside Woods--In Forest park on 22nd street, east of the Desplaines river. Glencoe--In the neighborhood of the Glencoe forest preserve golf club house. Dam No. 1--In the vicinity of 300 feet north of the bathhouse. Dam No. 2--One thousand feet north of the new cabin. Dam No. 4--In the neighborhood east of the dam. The hunt is scheduled to occur rain or shine, although prognostications are for a bright Easter day. Swimming Pool Feature of $750,000 Apartment Victor C. Carlson, Evanston's ener- getic hotel and apartment builder, has just started work on another of his deluxe apartment projects at 712-36 Noves street. It is to be called the Rookwood. Among the many new features in this building will be a swimming pool for the tenants. The new building which is being constructed at an investment of $750,- 000, is to contain 52 apartments of three, four, five and six rooms each. It was designed by O'Conner and O'Con- nor and will be of English architecture. The apartment will occupy a site of over half an acre. A good sized por- tion of this site will be used as a gar- den which is to be landscaped. Stone gateways, stone garden furniture and walks will aid in beautifying the place. The building will be fire proof. It is expected to complete the structure by fall. H.W.
