April 16, 1927 WINNETKA TALK 43 Frank Schramka Buys Shoreen Motor Co.; to Reorganize Business The Shoreen Motor company, dis- tributors for Oakland-Pontiac automo- biles at 2518-24 West Railroad Avenue, has been purchased by Frank Shramka, 1003 Dobson street. Mr. Schramka, one of Evanston's leading building contractors, believes that there are great possibilities in the Oakland-Pontiac line in Evanston and the North Shore. Due to its proximity to Dyche Sta- dium, Mr. Schramka announces that the organization will hereafter be op- erated under the name of the Stadium Motor Sales. The Oakland-Pontiac contract is considered one of the most desirable automobile contracts to be obtained to- day. Although the Pontiac has been on the market but two years, the de- mand for this six cylinder car denotes a very decided success. Plans are being made for extensive improvements. The Repair Parts De- partment is being rearranged and re- modeled to facilitate the handling of genuine Oakland-Pontiac repair parts. Mr. Schramka has appointed G. A. Schacht, general manager. Te Send Star Athletes to Midwestern Contests Northwestern university's outdoor track team, considered much stronger this season than for many years, will send 13 athletes to the annual relay carnivals of midwestern schools. Coach Frank Hill will split his team for the Kansas and Ohio State games, April 23, but the team will be reunited for the Drake meet the following week. The Ohio State meet will claim the Purple's famous wrecking crew of weight men and Tannehill a combina- tion sprinter, hurdler, and broadjumper. In the weight events there will be Lewis, Karsten, Bagge, Nessler and Dart. At Kansas the Purple will be repre- sented by Einar Hermanse, sprinter; Rettig, high jumper; Droegemueller, pole vaulter, and the two-mile relay team of Sparling, Gorby, Furrey and Reynolds. Hermansen, who recently defeated Loren Murchison in the 70 yard dash of the Bankers' meet, is one of the favorites. Country Day School Has Its Annual "Dig Day" Job Wednesday, April 13, the children of the North Shore Country Day school celebrated "Dig Day," their spring cleaning-up event. Every member oi the school, from the first grade to the faculty, was assigned some job in the task of cleaning up the campus for spring. The older boys dug up stumps and moved sidewalks and the younger children raked leaves, picked up papers and sticks and spaded flower beds.
