Sunday morning, April 24, at 9:30 o'clock in the American Legion room of Community House, Ralph Morphett will speak on the life and work of Dwight I. Moody. Mr. Morphett, who has made a pro- longed study of Moody and his work, considered that the influence of this man on the Anglo-Saxon peoples on both sides of the Atlantic has been of tremendous importance and promises a most interesting discussion. O. L. Simpson will speak briefly on a spe- cial subject. All men and women in- terested are invited to attend this meeting. On the following Sundays, May 1 and 8, at the same hour and place, William Ayer McKinney will tell of the progress to date of the Speedomat Industrial Christianization plan, a tentative outline of which he gave be- fore a group of men of the Congrega- tional church in the spring of 1926. MARINELLO BEAUTY SHOP 733 Elm Street For Appointment Pry Open Baseball Lid Tomorrow Over on Playfield Lot The Winnetka baseball team will again resume the limelight this Sunday on the Playfield diamond when it en- gages the Washington Park Blues of Evanston. As this is the first game of the season it has been agreed upon that both teams substitute freely. The lineup as Manager Earl Flynn has given it, includes practically the same men who finished the seasan last year. Earl Smith, the Winnetka slab artist, and the gentleman who boasts a record of ten strikeouts per game last season, will again be on the rubber this summer. The illustrious "China" Rudolph, and "Larry" Knox will again battle for the guardianship of the ini- tial sack. George Dahl, the boy who played er- rorless ball all last summer, will be much in evidence around second base again this season. Flynn announces that a new face will shine forth from the short-stop position. To satisfy your curiosity, he says, be at the game to- morrow. "Fid" Runnfeldt, made-over ieft fielder, will cavort about the ter- ritory of third base. A large number of outfielders have reported so far, and from these Flynn says he has a healthy lot of sluggers, as well as expert fly-chasers. Frank Hohlfelder, Bill Schroeder, Money Ru- dolph, Morry Thomas, Bill Blow, George Brown, and Bob Burmeister, comprise the lot. The catching job, although not def- initely decided upon, will probably as- signed to Bob Burmeister. Manager Flynn extends a cordial welcome to all young or old aspiring amateur athletes to try out for the club. Either report at next Sunday's game, or call Winnetka 223 and ar- range for a try out, he says. Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Browell of 852 Oak street will meve May 1, to Santa Monica, Cal. to live there for two years. Mr. Browell plans to retire from business for this two year period. They have rented the Oak street house to the DeWitt Stillman family of Joliet. North C.
