In the play contest made possi- ble by the Drama league of Chicago combined with the Hull House Play- ers, the play entered by the N. T. club took second place out of seventeen other productions. The play that the N. T. Dramatic club presented was "A Night at an Inn," by Lord Dunsany. They first produced it in the preliminaries of the contest on Monday, May 9, at which time the judges selected it for presen- tation in the finals at the Goodman theater last Sunday evening. It was presented again in the finals with three other contesting plays, the casts of all of which were adults. Thus the New Trier cast deserves especially high praise for defeating older and more experienced players. The plays were judged on a basis of choice of play, acting, directing and presentation. Miss Elisabeth Stanwood, director of the play, deserves great credit for the sure training she gave to the players. The judge who made the award re- marked that it was plain to see that "Miss Stanwood knew how to make young actors enjoy what they were doing." That would be a big tribute to any director. Those who took part in "A Night at an Inn" are: Stephen Harwood, Ed- ward Baumann, Samuel Moore, Town- er Webster, Edward Ryerson, Gordon Cumberland, Georgt Belter, and Daniel Bull. ) |Vacat ion Tours All Expenses Included For Two Weeks' Trip Lowest cost--highest class An ideal vacation-- comprehensive, restful --carefree, PersonallyConducted or Independent "Go-as-you-please" Unusual individual service.
