% VILLAGE OF WINNETKA NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a SPECIAL ELECTION is to be held in the VILLAGE OF WINNETKA, on Saturday, June 11th, 1927, for the purpose of voting ¥pon R. certain ordinance submitted for the approval of the voters of said Village, as follows: AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ISSUANCE OF BONDS TO THE AMOUNT OF SEVENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($75,000.00) FOR CONSTRUCTING AN ADDITION AND MAKING ALTERATIONS TO THE FREE PUBLIC LIBRARY OF THE VILLAGE OF WIN- NETKA AND PROVIDING FOR THE PAYMENT THEREOF. THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF WINNETKA DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1. That for the purpose of providing funds for the cost of con- structing an addition and making alterations to the Village Library of said Village of Winnetka, there are hereby authorized to be issued seventy-five (75) Village of Winnetka Library Addition Bonds of one thousand dollars ($1,000.00) each, each to be dated July 1, 1927, and each bearing interest evidenced by coupons at the rate of four and. one-quarter per cent (414%) per annum, payable January 1, 1928, and semi-annually thereafter on January first and July first of each year; three thou- sand dollars ($3,000.00) of the issue of said bonds to become due on the first day of July in each of the years 1928 to 1939 inclusive; four thousand dollars ($4,000.00) in the amount of said bonds to become due on the first day of July in the year 1940; and five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) in the amount of said bonds to become due on the first day of July in each of the years 1941 to 1947 inclusive. SECTION 2. The bonds hereby authorized shall be in substantially the follow- ing form: UNITED STATES OF AMERICA STATE OF ILLINOIS VILLAGE OF WINNETKA VILLAGE LIBRARY ADDITION BOND NO Svourine $1,000.00 KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That the Village of Winnetka, in the County of Cook and State of Illinois, acknowledges itself to owe and for value received hereby promises to pay to bearer One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) on the first day of July, 19.... with interest thereon from the date hereof at the rate of four and one-quarter per centum (44%) per annum, payable on January 1, 1928, and semi-annually thereafter on presentation and surrender of the annexed interest coupons as they severally become due. Both principal and interest of this bond are hereby made payable in gold coin of the United States of the present standard of weight and fineness at the office of the Village Treasurer in the Village of Winnetka, Illinois. This bond is one of a series of like tenor, except maturities, providing for the cost of constructing an addition to and making alterations in the Village Library in said Village of Winnetka, and the same is issued under authority of Chapter 81 of the Revised Statutes of the State of Illinois and of an ordi- nance of the Villuge of Winnetka duly passed, and is further authorized by an election duly called and held. The Village of Winnetka shall have the right by six (6) months' notice printed in any newspaper of general circulation in said County of Cook, Illinois, to call in, redeem and retire on January 1st or July 1st of any year beginning July 1st, 1932 not less than three thousand dollars ($3,000.00) principal of said bonds upon payment of principal and interest thereon to date, the serial numbers of the bonds redeemed to be selected by lot. It is hereby certified and recited that all acts, conditions and things re- quired to be done precedent to and in the issuing of this bond have been done, happened and been performed in, regular and due form as required by law, and that the total indebtedness of the Village of Winnetka, including this bond, does not exceed the statutory or constitutional limitations. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, The Village of Winnetka, Illinois, has caused this bond to be sealed with its corporate seal, signed by its President, attested by its Village Clerk, and countersigned by its Village Treasurer, and has caused the annexed interest coupons to be executed with the facsimile signatures of the said officers this first day of July, 1927. The question of the approval of the foregoing ordinance shall appear on the ballot at said election in substantially the following form: Shall bonds or obligations for the purpose of provid- ing funds for the construction of an addition and making alterations to the Winnetka Public Library of the Vil- lage of Winnetka to the amount of Seventy-five Thousand Dollars ($75,000.00) be issued by the Village of Winnetka? That the Community House, located at 620 Lincoln Avenue, in the Village of Winnetka is hereby designated as the polling place in Distriict No. 6 for the purpose of holding said election. DISTRICT NO. 7: Beginning at the point of intersection of the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad and the center line of Pine Street; thence west along the center line of Pine Street and said center line extended west to the northwest corner of Section 20; thence south from said corner and along the west line of said Section 20, to the center line of Elm Street extended west; thence east along the center line extended west and the center line of Elm Street to the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad; thence northwesterly along the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad to the place of beginning, all in Township 42 North, Range 13 East, in the Village of Winnetka, Cook County, Illinois. That the office occupied by Clark T. Northrop, located at 556 Center Street, in the Village of Winnetka, is hereby designated as the polling place in District No. 7 for the purpose of holding said election. DISTRICT NO. 8: Beginning at the intersection of the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad and the center line of Elm Street; thence west along the center line of Elm Street to the west line of Section 20; thence south along the west line of Section 20 to the center line of Cherry Street; thence east along the center line of Cherry Street to the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad; thence northwesterly along the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad to the place of beginning, all in Township 42 North, Range 13 East, in the Village of Winnetka, Cook County, Tllinois. That the Parish House, located on Oak Street, just west of Linden Street, in the Village of Winnetka, is hereby designated as the polling place in District No. 8 for the purpose of holding said election. DISTRICT NO. 9: Beginning at the shore line of Lake Michigan and the center line of Elm Street; thence west along the center line of Elm Street to the Chicago and North Western Railroad; thence southeasterly along the Chicago and North Western Railroad to the center line of Willow Street; thence east along the center line of Willow Street to the shore line of Lake Michigan; thence north along the shore line of Lake Michigan to the center line of Elm Street, all in Township 42 North, Range 13 East, in the Village of Winnetka, Cook County, Illinois. That the office of Norman E. Dally, located at 725 Oak Street, in the Village of Winnetka, is hereby designated as the polling place in District No. 9 for the purpose of holding said election. DISTRICT NO. 10: Beginning at the intersection of the Chicago and North Western Railroad and the center line of Willow Road; thence west along the center line of Willow Road to the west line of Section 20; thence south along the west line of Section 20 to the southwest corner thereof; thence east along the south line of Sections 20 and 21 to the center line of the Chicago and North Western Railroad ; thence northwesterly along the center line of the Chicago and North Western Rail- road to the center line of Willow Road, the place of beginning, all in Township 42 North, Range 13 East, in the Village of Winnetka, Cook County, Illinois. That the North Shore Country Day School, located at 301 Forest Street, in the Village of Winnetka, is hereby designated as the polling place in District No. 10, for the purpose of holding said election.
