June 4, 1927 WINNETKA TALK Local Girl Demonstrates | Physical Education Work' Miss Sallie Windes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Windes of 244 Forest avenue, took an active part in the an- nual demonstration of school activities held Friday, May 27, by the Chicago Normal School of Physical Education, at Orchestra hall. Miss Windes ap- peared in five of the senior numbers, including plastic gymnastics and ar- tistic grouping, indian club drill, pyra- mids, in which she formed the apex of a four-tier pyramid, clog medley, executed in southern plantation cos- tumes, and in the daisy chain. Miss Windes will graduate from the school this June. She is a graduate of New Trier High school. During the coming summer she will hold a posi- tion as counsellor in Osoha-of-the- Dunes, camp for girls on Crystal lake, near Frankfort, Mich. She will have entire charge of instruction in horse- back riding, having received her train- ing in the normal school. In addition she has received much practice in the handling of horses, both with privately owned horses, in riding clubs and dur- ing vacations. Miss Margaret Newman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Newman, for- merly of Winnetka, also took part in the two junior numbers given at the demonstration, the reed and ball drill and the class corrective exercises.
