WU' WINNETKA TALK June 4, 1927 TS VOTE For Our Fellow Townsman Judge Charles M. Thomson and the other candidates recommended by the Chicago Bar Association MAA Ea a Cook County Judicial Election Next Monday, June 6, 1927 . -------- MIR Sh a a a KEEP THE COURTS OUT OF POLITICS AMAA a a a Ea Both Men and Women Vote at This Election MAA a a Ee Twenty judges of the Circuit Court and one judge of the Superior Court are to be elected Mon- day, June 6th. The candidates whose names appear on the sample ballot printed on opposite page were recom- mended to the voters at a primary of The Chicago Bar Association which is composed of more than 4200 lawyers. The Chicago Bar Association is particularly interested in keeping the courts out of politics. It is, therefore, deeply interested in the candidacies of Judges CHARLES M. THOMSON, FRANK JOHNSTON, JR. and OSCAR M. TORRISON. These three judges alone, of all the twenty sitting Circuit Judges, were left off the ticket by the party managers: they have been nominated by peti- tion and their names will appear on the ballot in a separate column. They were ousted from the tic- ket by the party managers not because of any blemish on their judicial records, but solely because of political considerations. Because of the excellence of their records, Judges CHARLES M. THOMSON and FRANK JOHNSTON, JR. were chosen by the Supreme Court to sit in the Appellate Court. They have served for years with distinction in that high office and have brought honor to the Appellate Bench. Judges of the Illinois Supreme Court have publicly commended the records these Judges have made in the Appellate Court. Judge OSCAR M. TORRISON, not assigned to the Appellate Court, has been a Judge for 21 years; he is a man of the highest integrity who has been faithful in the discharge of his judicial duties. The attempt of the party managers to defeat such faithful public officials without just cause is a blow at the proper and independent administration of justice which should be resented by every right thinking man and woman in Cook County. In the interest of the public service and the proper conduct of the courts, we urge you to vote for the three sitting judges, Thomson, Torrison and John- ston, in the "Independent Judicial Party" column and for the candidates marked thus in the Re- publican column as indicated on the sample ballot printed on opposite page. 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 3 % 4 4 R 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 L 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 +4 k 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 4 k 4 4 4 Suerte isis heidi hh an
