Leonard company, build- ers, of 556 Center street, Winnetka, now have underway six new residences on Woodlawn avenue, Glencoe, one of which, the eight-room English house at 228 Woodlawn, is shown in the ac- companying illustration. This exceedingly attractive residence is located on the south side of the street a short distance west of Green Bay road, on one of the choice lots in this section, a lot having dimensions of 59 by 300 feet. It is being built for the market, the completion date to be the latter part of August. The price will be $34,000. The exterior will be stone and struc- co, with brick trim. The roof will be of asbestos variegated shingles. Bal- sam wool is being used for insula- tion. The eight rooms, in addition to a large living room 27.6 by 16.6, dining room and kitchen, will also include on the first floor maid's room and bath breakfast nook and butler's pantry. I'he floor of the living room 1s one step down from the hall and dining room. A large stone frame open hearth, wood-burning fire- place will be an attractive feature of the living room. On the second floor will be four mas- ter bedrooms, and two baths. The master bathroom will also have a built- in shower stall. The plans call for full foored third story. There will be one car attached garage. Hartmann Brothers to Build English Colonial Residence Hartmann Brothers, builders, broke ground Wednesday for the third and final house to be erected on the va- cant tract which they purchased last season on Dupee place just south of Maple avenue, Wilmette. The first two houses they built here were a Georgian and a Dutch colonial, both of brick and both of which sold as soon as they were near completion. They are now building an English Colonial, to be of solid, tan colored brick. One of the other houses is of buff brick and the center one is of red brick, the contrast in both design and colors of material used, adding to the pleasing effect of their development plan. The latest building will comprise six rooms, and, as the other two, will be featured with a tile roof. Over the large breakfast room will be a com- modious sleeping porch, enclosed and heated, and, in reality affording the fourth bedroom. There will be two tile bath rooms and also a lavatory and toilet on the first floor. An attractive feature in the design of this house will be the entrance, in which stone is used in its construction. A two car brick garage will be built in the rear of the lot, reached by a side drive from Dupee place. The lot is 42 by 128 feet. Hartmann Brothers announce they are building for the market, with No- vember 1 as completion date. $23,000 will be the price. BUYS WILMETTE VACANT Dominik Kollmer has purchased through Smith & Brown, of 334 Lin- den avenue, Wilmette, the vacant, fronting south on Laurel avenue abut- ting the Sanitary district right-of-way, and expects to improve it with a brick residence very soon. The lot was pur- chased from Herman G. Nordberg, of Wilmette. " =
