Paul Reynolds, who has just returned from China where he and his family have been for six years as foreign ministers of the Winnetka Congregational church, will speak at the evening service Sunday on "China and Christianity." He will tell the ef- fect of present conditions in China on their missionary work. In a few days Rev. Reynolds will leave Winnetka for Tower Hill, Michi- gan, where he will attend the Young Peoples' conferences to be held there by the Congregational churches in Il- linois. He will return to Winnetka in the fall. Newly Ordained Priest to Read Mass Tomorrow The Rev. Luke McKinney, who was ordained as Priest at Washington, D. C., during the past week, will read his first mass at the Sacred Heart church in Hubbard Woods at 10:30 o'clock tomorrow morning. Father McKinney, who has resided in Winnetka for some time and until re- cently has been preparing for the priesthood, will have as members of his congregation several of the clergy from surrounding parishes, it is said. Skokie School Principal Addresses P. T. A. Group A meeting of the Parent-Teacher group of the sixth grades of the Hub- bard Woods school was held Tuesday afternoon. The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Charles E. Burkardt. S. R. Logan, principal of the Skokie school, addressed the parents on the main dif- ferences confronting the pupils passing from the different elementary schools into the higher grades at Skokie. Submit Plans for Center Street Paving Project Frank A. Windes, of the firm of Windes & Marsh, village engineers, submitted preliminary plans for the widening and improvement of Center street, Winnetka, from Elm street to Tower road, to the village council at its meeting Tuesday night. An effort will be made to have the state pay for forty feet of this improvement. Pend- ing the holding of a series of public hearings on the project, sometime in August, the engineers will complete plans, which will also include an es- timate of the cost.
