Farmer, of 315 Oakwood avenue, Highland Park, driving a car m which W. W. Raley, of 611 Deerfield avenue, also of Highland Park, was a passenger, crashed into a towing truck from the Richardson's garage, of 724 Elm street, Winnetka, Mr. Raley was thrown through the windshield of the former machine. The wreck occurred at Sheridan and Tower roads, Winnetka, Sunday evening at 8:50 o'clock. Raley was cut about the face and head. His wounds were treated by Dr. Jay M. Garner at the police station in Win- netka. Farmer was held by the police and on the following afternoon at 4 o'clock was fined $35 and costs by Police Magistrate C. T. Northrup on a charge of disorderly conduct. Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Vollman, 803 Cherry street, and Mr. and Mrs. John Bell, 327 Rosewood avenue, are leaving today for the Vollman summer home on Lake Manatoo, Rochester, Ind. Mr. and Mrs. William Vance of Peru, Ind, will be their guests also. Mr. and Mrs. Vollman will entertain a number of relatives Sunday on the occasion of the Bells' first wedding anniversary. --_--0-- John F. Roos, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Roos, 491 Hawthorne lane, is returning this week from Princeton university, where he has finished his sophomore year and received mention on the honor roll of his class. John will leave soon for Culver, Ind., where he will have a position as instructor in the summer naval school there. Find Expert Shots at Second Meeting of the Rifle Club The second meeting of the season of 'he Winnetka Rifle club was held Sun- day, June 12, on the Government Rifle range at Fort Sheridan. About fifteen members attended and the shooting was at the 300 and 200 yard points. Chief W. M. Peterson, of Winnetka, and J. M. Dickinson, Jr., spent the en- tire day on the field devoting the after- noon to work on the pistol range. The best scores at the 300 yard dis- tance were made by Chief Peterson with 20 out of a possible 25, Maxwell and C. F. Austin with 19 out of 25, and Pierre Bouscaren 17. At the 200 yard distance, with a pos- sible score of 50, the following were the high men with the following scores: K. S. Beall 47, Chief Peterson 41, Langdon Pierce 40, James T. Peirce 37, R. P. Carpenter 37. The next meeting of the club will probably be held on June 22. These meetings are serving as practice events for the Dickinson trophy competitive shoot which is usually held at the end of the season. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin E. Brown of 1045 Dinsmore road have driven to Northhampton, Mass., to meet their daughter, Helen, who is a student at Smith college.
