Those who have had the treat in | other seasons or earlier this season | have memories of a place unique among | summer camps in the country for city | | children--and for mothers and their | | babies. The trip to Lake Bluff from Ev- anston is a pleasant drive, and an af- ternoon may be delightfully spent in a! visit to this camp, deep in the heart of sun-flecked woodland stretches along the bluff above the blue lake, with a wide, sandy beach stretching to the blue Lake Michigan. For Under-Nourished Boys Arden Shore covers 22 acres of woodland, and accommodates 500 per- sons at a time all the summer long. One of the outstanding accomplish- ments of the camp is the aid given under-nourished boys during eight months of the year. Unable to obtain working certificates, these boys are sent by the Board of Education of Chicago to be fed and rested and employed and instructed at Arden Shore until they are ready to go back to the city in the prime of health and strength to assume their work. These boys are of the type which easily become delinquents, and without this interest and aid to their | welfare, usually land in the courts and institutions of the city and the state. Plenty of good food, fresh air, proper | ine conditions and medical care build these boys into useful, healthful | citizens, and when they are graduated | | from Arden Shore they are placed in Fa suitable for them and given aj fair opportunity to succeed. During the summer the camp also| | provides two weeks' outing for 2,000] mothers and children; for 150 young girls as camp waitresses; and for 75 little girls in the Cinderella lodge. It provides an entire summer vacation for 20 little convalescent girls, 30 little convalescent boys, 50 children of work- ing mothers, and 30 undernourished girls who have been refused working certificates. Words and figures cannot tell the story. Half a day at the camp, or even an hour's call, will open the eyes | of the visitor to the remarkable organi- zation towards which he has the priv: ilege of contributing annually. It is a gratification to see the surroundings-- sunshine, cleanliness and comfort, rest for the weary mothers of many chil- dren who are permitted freedom from the care of their little ones while at the camp; the development of the love of play that is catered to there with train- ing in little plays and pageantry, bath- ing in the beautiful blue lake and hav- ing the supervision of a superior staff of workers. BAHAI LECTURES A complete answer to the question "What Is Bahai?" will be acquired by attendants at a series of meetings in the studio of Louis Bourgeois, archi- tect of the Bahai temple, 536 Sheridan road, Wilmette, Sundays at 3 p.m. Wednesdays at 8 p.m. a study class meets in the home of C. P. Christen- sen, 1138 Oakwood avenue. These gatherings are not for the purpose of proselyting, but the intent is to ac- quaint the public with the principles and philosophy ushering in the pro- phesied New Era, the millennial age, it is explained. Miss Teresa Neuberger is the guest of her sister, Mrs. Walter Shattuck, of Kenilworth during this week. ------ Herbert Jarrett of 534 Essex road, Kenilworth, has gone to California to join his mother in an extended visit. not Summer all of and moth proofed with Larvex guaranteed against will show samples FRENCH LAUNDRY -- Phone Wil. 571 Warning! away before you for the have your Blankets cleansed if d shrinkage esired
