Weld, 315 Sunset road, Winnetka, was formerly Miss Frances Elizabeth Ross and is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles I. Ross, of Evanston. The Rev. Herbert Willet of Kenil- worth officiated, reading the service before the immediate families and close relatives of the couple. Mr. and Mrs. Sherer are living at Evanston. Mr. Sherer is the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Sherer, 2716 Park place, Evanston. Vista del Lago Becomes Center of Social Whirl The north shore has found a new society rendezvous in the club Vista del Lago which had its colorful open- ing last week attended by some thou- sand members and guests. First of its kind in the Mid-west, this shore club, which has opened its doors to all in the members' families, presents a pretty ensemble in its gay bathing, luncheon, bridge, tea and dinner parties. Prominent among the first teas to be given was the party of Miss Alice Gerstenberg and Mr. and Mrs. Gersten- berg. Mrs.- Rufus B. Stolp gave the first large luncheon party which in- cluded guests from Kenilworth, Evans- ton, and Chicago, and Mrs. C. Walker of Pasadena, Cal. Among the important events on the club program in the near future will be a children's carnival Saturday af- ternoon, August 6, from 2 until 5 o'clock. Beach games, prizes, and re- freshments are promised to the kiddies. L. C. Simmel, former California scout- master, will be in charge. Regular dinner dance nights are to be Wednesdays and Saturdays, it is also announced this week. Stanley Miller of 893 Elm street, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Miller of Brooklyn, N. Y., and Miss Elinor Phillips, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Phillips of Buffalo, were married July 19 at the home of the bride's par- ents. Following the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Miller spent two weeks touring the East. --O---- Mrs. D. Lawrence Shaw, mother of Mrs. J.
